e-Nigeria 2019 to Feature New Job Opportunities in Technology, Indigenous Innovations


The 2019 e-Nigeria International Conference, Exhibitions and Awards organised yearly by National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) expected to key national development issues such as new job opportunities and economic development through technological innovation.


The event which will be holding in the Nigerian capital city, Abuja but was earlier shifted has now been slated to commence on Thursday, 28th- November, 2019.

According to a statement from the Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relations, NITDA, Mrs. Hadiza Umar, the three day event with the theme: ‘Leveraging Technology and Indigenous Innovation to Attain the Sustainable Development Goals’, will also feature discussions on Harnessing Indigenous innovation and creativity for poverty Reduction in Nigeria, Leveraging Disruptive Innovation for Achieving Good Health, National Security, Anticorruption, and Sustainable Energy Systems.

She noted that the conference which be will declared opened by President Muhammadu Buhari with the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed delivering the keynote address will discuss the Implications of Data Protection Regulation for Open Data, Big Data Analytics and Smart Initiatives in Building a Productive National Economy.

The e-Nigeria is Nigeria’s annual Information Technology Conference hosted by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), a Federal Government Agency under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

The event is hosted in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders from both the public and the private sector as well as Non-Governmental Organisations and Academia. It serves as a platform for ICT awareness creation, development of appropriate regulatory instruments and best practices in order to facilitate the positioning of Nigeria in the global Information Society.

She disclosed that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), is the chief host, and the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi will co-Host and Convener of the event.
