OLX Closes Nigeria Office, but to Retain Operations

Online trading portal Olx has closed its Nigerian office but will continue to maintain its operation in the country as the leading classified sales platform in the country.
The company said that the decision to close the Nigeria office was a difficult but important one stressing that it is part of a plan to consolidate its operations between some of its offices internationally.
The statement said that the marketplace will continue to operate in Nigeria uninterrupted as it has been since 2010, adding “we remain committed to the many people here who use our platform to buy and sell every month.”
The statement which was issued by the PR and Communications Lead, OLX Nigeria, Uche Nwagboso assured Nigerians that Olx will continue to be focused on constantly innovating to make sure that OLX remains the top classifieds platform in the country.
“Of course, we are committed to helping our affected colleagues during this transition and have already offered them meaningful financial and other support. As we’ve expressed to them directly, we are extremely grateful for their many significant contributions to OLX’s success” the company said.
