OLX Marks Five Years in Nigeria, Thanks Users

ONLINE classified site OLX.com.ng recently in Lagos, South West Nigeria, marked its fifth year of doing business in the country, thanking its users, partners and staff of the company for their support.
Country Manager, Mrs. Lola Masha together with the Nigerian staff who hosted users, partners and the media at a luncheon appreciated everyone who played a role in moving the brand from the number four position in the industry to number one.
Masha was full of enthusiasm as she take time to pour encomiums on everyone who had brave all odds to make the OLX brand what it is today in the market disclosing that there were challenges that they had to painstakingly overcome to move to the number one position, and to still remain there.
According to her, Nigeria is a unique market where the trust element in business is essential noting that there are users who don’t align with the OLX value but despite that it has been able to localise the platform as a brand.
She disclosed that OLX has emerged stronger and better than what it was when it started recalling that when she left her plum job at Google Nigeria to take-up the appointment at OLX many thought it was a foolish idea.
She said: “What attracted me to the OLX brand was the impunity to make a different” noting that today through the platform Nigerians can now convert household items into cash by simply uploading it on OLX.
Masha further revealed that the brand has come a long way by growing its business to making it a brand that Nigerians can now trust where even graduates now make money for themselves.
Masha added that a key part of OLX growth won’t have been possible without the commitment and passion of every single team member stressing, “As with every business, even though we have had our own fair share of challenges, we keep going strong and remain committed to helping Nigerians make win win exchanges. We work hard every day to consistently deliver our brand essence – ‘Everybody Wins.”
In her comment, Marketing Manager, OLX, Fifemayo Aiyesimoju, said in commemoration of the 5th Anniversary, OLX is giving away a quarter of a million naira throughout the month of October to reward its loyal users and fans.
