Health Care Professionals (HCP) in Nigeria has embraced the digital healthcare platform introduced into the Nigeria’s healthcare ecosystem by Global provider of information, innovative technology solutions and human data science, IQVIA, formerly known as Quintiles IMS.
At the official launch of the technology driven interactive platform known as HCP Space in Lagos South West Nigeria, stakeholders applauded IQVIA for bringing the platform into the country.
At the event, which had in attendance dentist, pharmacist, nurses, medical doctors as well as other professionals, the HCP Space was describe as timely due to its potentials to set the healthcare sector in Nigeria on the path of the desired growth of international standard.
IQVIA HCPSpace is a platform designed to bring together all specialties and sub specialties of Doctors-Pharmacists, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Scientists, and all other Healthcare Professionals, where they can connect to peers, follow Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), discuss medical cases, establish public/private groups, view videos for increased knowledge, earn Continuing Professional Development, CPD points from content provided by approved bodies and KOLs, find jobs and career opportunities across multiple regions in Africa and the Middle East.
Former Minister of Health, Mr. Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi who chaired the event expressed confidence that the HCP Space will provide the desired network that will improve the net worth of HCP in the West African nation while also improving service provision to patients and reduce unnecessary competition among professionals.
According to him, the HCP Space has the potentials to reduce work stress among professionals make them more efficient and with high capacity utilisation saying that with the HCP Space, Nigeria will become a better place as far as health issues are concerned.
Adelusi-Adeluyi described the HCP Space as a bridge builder that can build professional collaboration and team work among healthcare professionals bringing an end to unhealthy competition.
While expressing optimism that the HCP Space apps will work to the good of all HCP in the country, the former minister noted that it is worth of recognition that IQVIA’s effort in this regard will be a blessing to the nation.
Chairman IQVIA HCP Space Advisory, Dr. Femi Olugbule in his opening remark said that his company is concern about effective healthcare delivery in Nigeria particularly on how professionals will help improve the health of their patient.
According to him, HCP Space is the solution to help IQVIA clients drive healthcare forward in their various field of medicine adding that it will deepen networking and collaboration among health care providers and helps stem the ugly trend of inter-professional rivalry in Nigeria’s health industry.
Country Manager, IQVIA West Africa, Mr. Remi Adeseun said the HCP Space is a vital tool that will foster professional relationship and stimulate dedication and collaboration among them.
He explained that IQVIA is confident about the positive impact that the HCP Space will have on Nigeria’s healthcare sector emphasizing that IQVIA believes so much on the role of collaboration and networking particularly when done in an environment that can be trusted and dedication.
He said that the IQVIA HCP Space will help improve the Healthcare Professionals’ practice, patient experience and produce desired healthcare outcomes.

According to Mr. Oludare Akinbo, Manager Technology Solutions, the HCP Space is user friendly, easy to understand and has a robust interface that keeps the user clued.
Akinbo while conducting a demo on how to register on HCP Space said that over a 1000 professionals across the global has joined the network which comes with several exciting features including a chat platform a well as functions that allows for the creation of special groups of medical professionals in the same network of professionals.
He urged all HCP in Nigeria register in the Space so as to have access to globally recognised and update medical information saying that the registration process is easy and makes for confidentiality besides curbing quake from the profession.

You will need to have your practicing license number at hand while registering since it one condition for joining the network but it will not be displayed.
You may also need to read the terms and conditions which are designed to protect every user of the platform.
The event was rounded up with the signing of a memorandum of Understanding among the all the healthcare professionals.
