By The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
The MoU, which was signed by the National Commissioner/CEO, Dr Vincent Olatunji of the NDPC and NACCIMA’s Dr Jani Ibrahim was a
major milestone in the area of collaboration by both body.
Speaking at the event, Olatunji commended NACCIMA, under the leadership of Engineer (for its proactive approach to data protection and privacy.
He commended his participation in the National Privacy Week 2026, and noted that NACCIMA, being a body with numerous data controllers and processors of major importance, is strategic to the Nigerian economy.
He stated that the MoU is expected to deepen privacy in the organised private sector, and attract foreign direct investments into Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his remarks, lbrahim commended Olatunji for his leadership style at the NDPC. He noted that global businesses are going digital, and can only be trusted when data protection and privacy have been put in place.
He reiterated that operationalising the MoU will boost investor confidence in the Nigerian economy, and improve the general well-being of all Nigerians and Nigerian businesses.
