The Africa Tech Alliance Forum, a platform convening policymakers, investors, founders, and technology leaders around Africa’s digital economy future, returns for its sixth edition.
AfriTECH 6.0 will be held under the theme “The Next $1 Trillion Opportunity: Building Africa Through Technology”, a theme that frames, with deliberate urgency, the central question the continent can no longer defer: what will it actually take to convert Africa’s digital promise into the next trillion-dollar economic reality, and who is already building the infrastructure to get us there?
The sixth edition of AfriTECH will also see the return of the Africa Tech Alliance Excellence Awards (ATAEx), which recognises outstanding achievement across Africa’s technology, fintech, telecoms, and digital economy ecosystem.
Africa enters 2026 with a paradox at its centre: a continent whose digital economy has attracted tens of billions of dollars in investment over the past decade, produced multiple unicorns, and built payment infrastructure that global markets now study, and yet still faces chronic infrastructure gaps, regulatory fragmentation, capital access constraints, and a persistent distance between the ambition of its builders and the enabling environment they need.
AfriTECH 6.0 is designed to close that distance, not with inspirational speeches, but with the kind of direct, working dialogue between those who make policy, those who deploy capital, and those who are in the trenches building the companies, platforms, and infrastructure that Africa’s next trillion dollars will run on.
“For five years, AfriTECH has been a room where the real conversations happen,” said Mr. Chike Onwuegbuchi, Co-Convener of the Africa Tech Alliance Forum. “With this sixth edition, we are raising the ambition. The trillion-dollar question is not rhetorical, it is a challenge we are asking every person in that room to help answer with precision, with honesty, and with actionable direction.”
AfriTECH has built its reputation over five editions as a curated, high-signal gathering rather than a mass-admission technology festival. The forum draws:
- C-suite and senior leadership from banking, fintech, telecoms, and technology companies operating across Africa
- Policymakers, regulators, and government officials shaping Africa’s digital and payments infrastructure
- Venture capital, private equity, and development finance investors active in African technology markets
- Founders and operators building at every stage, from early-stage startups to late-stage scale-ups
- Press, industry analysts, and thought leaders covering Africa’s digital economy
