Sabi, an African B2B e-commerce connecting African markets with each other and the world, today announced the appointment of Mr. Sanjeev Kulkarni as the Head of Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). This strategic move underscores Sabi’s commitment to sustainability, traceability, and digital innovation in its commercial operations.
Ultimately, the goal of Sabi’s ESG efforts is to reduce the environmental and social impacts in the company’s value chain by enabling suppliers, aggregators, and producers to meet or exceed traceability and sustainability standards.
Kulkarni, who brings over 30 years of experience in sustainability, will spearhead Sabi’s initiatives to integrate comprehensive ESG principles into its operations. The role will be pivotal in enhancing Sabi’s digital trading platform, ensuring robust traceability, and fostering sustainable practices across Nigeria and South Africa operations. Mr. Kulkarni’s hire follows Sabi’s recent community initiative announcement in Nigeria’s Oyo State.
“We are thrilled to have Sanjeev join our team,” said Ademola Adesina, co-founder and president of Sabi. “At Sabi, we believe in the power of real innovation to transform supply chains transparently, ethically, and sustainably. Sanjeev’s extensive experience will be invaluable as we drive this work forward.”
Kulkarni joins other experienced senior leaders at Sabi, including Chief Commercial Officer Moyo Okoye, Chief Financial Officer Lanre Depiver, and Chief People Officer Ebi Adeyemi.
