Check Point Software Technologies Nigeria, a global leader in cyber security solutions, dedicated to protecting corporate enterprises and governments worldwide has announced its collaborating with some Nigerian universities to equip undergraduate with cyber security skills before they graduate.
According to the Kingsley Osaghale, Country Manager, Check Point Software Technologies, West Africa, the company has signed an agreement three universities on security academy to trained the students adding that the company wants to catch them young.
Osaghale who spoke to TechnologyMirror on the sideline of the first edition of Secure 360 Summit, a cybersecurity engagement forum for stakeholders in the industry revealed that the company’s footprint is in the four main partners as tier, premium and elite their, the professionals which it has adding that the Secure 360 Summit was meant to support its customers.
He disclosed that the pool of trainees from those that the collaboration will produce will be provide support her customers saying that as a cyber security company, Check Point Software Technologies is doing well in the Nigerian banking sector by helping to secure their network.
He further revealed that the company currently have in its portfolio about 80 percent of the commercial and including the apex bank stating that the Secure 360 Summit was designed as a platform to bring all Check Point partners and customers together to showcase her latest technologies and innovations in security to them.
He added that the idea behind the event is to be able to give all of Check Point partners and customers a 360-degree support services, including training.
One of the cyber security innovations from the company that was unveiled to the customers and partners according to him was the Quantum Lightspeed, which he said is the world’s fastest firewall adding that Check Point is committed to securing cloud solution, networks of all organisations and the workplace for all players in the Nigerian economy.
Osaghale disclosed that Check Point three years ago, acquired the number one email security in the world, Avana saying that the company is already building on that even as its customers have since started to appreciate its email security technology solutions.
He added that its Check Pont other email security solution, Harmony Email and Collaboration ensures a safe inbox by preventing malicious emails from reaching inboxes, guarding against the No.1 attack vector for threat actors stressing, “we have been at the forefront of innovation. We have grown and as the inventor of firewall we are developing more of the firewalls over the years. We look out for the best in the same field to collaborate, merge or acquire.”
On the strength of its security solutions, he said that in the last years of its existence, the global research company, Gartner rated Check Point in the technology security space saying that Harmony Email and Collaboration is number one in the market, and Check Point is the company that has hyper scale firewall in the world.
While describing the solutions of Check Point as Rolls Royce, he however noted that the company has flexible plans that its partners offer to customers.
On the next step for the company in Nigeria, he promised that the company will be focusing on training and the building the ecosystem through its partners as well as aggressive engagement with its customers.
According to Emerging Technologies Security Expert for Check Point Software Technologies, Mr Shayimamba Conco, the company is more passionate about cyber security than any other aspects of the tech space stressing that that propels the company to always come up with several innovative ideas.
He said that that they are not relying on the traditional security but they are deploying artificial intelligence capability to deliver cutting edge cyber security solutions saying that that has afforded it the ability to be the leader when it comes to cyber security solutions.
“We are currently focusing on AI capability and that is why we have a lot of solutions with AI capability”, he said.
