NCC Boss, Maida Visits Sanwo-Olu, Holds Talk on Telecoms Infrastructure Security in Lagos

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr Aminu Maida and the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu have held talks on how to secure telecoms infrastructure in the state.

The meeting, which took place at the Lagos House, Ikeja, had in attendance members of the Lagos State cabinet and top management team of the NCC.

According to the NCC boss, he described the meeting to be very exciting to him and his team saying that he was excited to about the  shared commitment to enhancing coordination and collaboration in addressing the challenges faced by telecommunications operators, which impact service delivery to consumers.

He added: “As we discussed last week, implementing the Presidential Order on Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII) nationwide-through awareness creation and strengthened collaboration with key stakeholders at both national and sub-national levels-is crucial to reducing network outages.”

Maida further said, “I am convinced that by fostering an enabling environment for telecommunications to thrive and protecting infrastructure from vandalism, we can enhance the quality of connectivity that Lagosians-and indeed all Nigerians-enjoy.”

In his response, the Governor said: “We aim to further our digital transformation initiatives and establish a strong relationship with our telecommunications regulatory body. Together, we are committed to promoting digital progress in Lagos and Nigeria.”
