Airtel Nigeria within the a month won two remarkable awards: two prestigious awards at the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA) and carted away the Partnership of the Year award at the 18th edition of the Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards (SERAS)
The award ceremony themed ‘Shining Stars’, highlighted Airtel’s successful commitment to sustainability and employee engagement.
Airtel Nigeria emerged winner of the Environment and Sustainability PR Award category for its Baadun Lagos Beach Clean-Up activity, which mobilized employees to tackle environmental challenges and foster a cleaner, healthier ecosystem. Additionally, Airtel was recognized for Excellence in Internal Communication and Employee Engagement, showcasing its dedication to cultivating an engaged, motivated, and purpose-driven workforce.
Speaking on the wins, Airtel Nigeria CEO, Dinesh Balsingh, emphasized the importance of sustainability to company.
“These awards are a testament to our core belief that businesses have a responsibility to drive positive change in society. The Baadun Beach Clean-Up is more than just an environmental effort. It is part of our Employee Volunteer Scheme (EVS) initiative, a programme that encourages Airtel employees to engage in community services and social impact initiatives.”

The 2024 LaPRIGA Awards brought together Public Relations industry’s leading lights to celebrate innovation, strategic leadership, and measurable impact. Airtel Nigeria’s double wins underscore its status as a transformative force in Nigeria’s PR sector, setting benchmarks in sustainability and organizational communication.
The SERA award celebrates Airtel’s continued success with its Re-imagine Education Initiative, a ground-breaking collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) aimed at transforming education in Nigeria through technology. Airtel’s consistent focus on creating social value through strategic partnerships reflects its position as a key enabler of progress in the Nigerian education sector.
Commenting on the award, Director, Corporate Communications and CSR, Femi Adeniran, highlighted the significance of the winning the Partnership of the Year award for the second time with the Airtel collaboration with UNICEF to provide digital access to quality educational resources for more than 1,200 schools in Nigeria.
