By The Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) has continued to record yearly peak traffic growth.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IXPN, Mr. Muhammed Rudman said that IXPN has confidently grown peak traffic annually for the past 10 years.
Rudman who was speaking at the 2024 edition of IXPN Members Engagement Forum in Lagos, South WQest Nigeria, noted that currently, IXPN has attained 570 Gigabytes per second in traffic, which is a multiple of the unit byte for digital information.
Rudman said that IXPN has grown its membership to 116 and is still counting.
He revealed that IXPN has seven Point of presences (PoPs) in Lagos across ICNL, Digital Reality (Medallion), Rack Center, MDXi, Cloud Exchange, ADC and OADC.
Equally, he said that IXPN has PoPs in five cities outside Lagos, namely Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu and Gombe.
IXPN, he also said, has partnered with PCH, ISC and Verisign to have the anycast instance of E-Root, F-Root and J-Root Servers respectively.
Additionally, Rudman said that IXPN collaborated with NIRA to host some of the primary name servers of .ng country code Top Level Domains (ccTLD) locally.
