News making the rounds of a planned acquisition of 9Mobile one of Nigeria’s telecoms operators by the leading operator in the industry MTN Nigeria Plc, has been deflated by a director of 9Mobile who is based in London.
News emerged recently stating that the South African telecoms gaint was in talks to buy the Emerging Market Telecommunications Services Limited company.
Our source who spoke from London, today said there was no such deal on the table noting that 9Mobile was however in talks with MTN Nigeria on collaboration for roaming services.
“There is nothing of such, we are no selling 9Mobile, what we are discussing is how to collaborate and give roaming services to our subscribers”, the Director who do not want to be mentioned said.
9mobile, recently rolled out a special hajj roaming offer for Nigerian pilgrims so that they can enjoy an affordable roaming experience for voice calls, SMS, and data while on pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
