By A global economic forum, organised by the World Integrated Economic Growth Initiative (WIEG) will for the first time be hosted in Lagos, South-West targeting Nigeria’s growing MSMEs with business resources and tools that will leapfrog their businesses into the next frontier.
Known as the WIEG Investment Summit 2026, gathering of the Summit is designed to support MSMEs, cooperatives, and women-led businesses, offer significant support to tackle their challenges.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the February Summit, the WEIG Lead Representative in Nigeria, Mr Bassey Essien said that Summit is expected will provide a platform that connects policy, private capital, and growth-ready enterprises.
According to him, the WIEG Investment Summit is a curated, private sector-led event designed to deliver practical results adding that participation for Pre-screened MSMEs, cooperatives, investors, DFIs, and development partners.
He noted that the WIEG Summit is a structured engagement that provides investment readiness sessions, policy-to-market dialogue, and matchmaking.
“The Summit is non-partisan and carries no financial burden on government partners, while still aligning with public policy objectives”, he said.
Essien disclosed that the Summit will addresse key national and regional priorities such as:
Job creation and enterprise growth
Women’s economic empowerment
Strengthened cooperative engagement
Improved investor confidence and ecosystem coordinatio
