NITDA DG, Inuwa Exploits Africa’s Potentials at London AI Forum

The Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, delivered a Keynote Address at the TranformBase AI Forum in King’s Place, London.

The forum, curated by EdenBase, brought together 250+ senior innovative leaders and thinkers to delve into the future of emerging technologies, focused on AI, quantum computing, immersive technologies (AR/VR), blockchain, and 5G/6G.

During a fireside discussion moderated by Eric Van der Kleij, Co-Founder and Partner at EdenBase and TransformBase, the Director-General explored the theme “Tech Nation Africa: From skills to investment to international connections – a strategy unfolds.”

In his address, Inuwa elaborated on his journey thus far leading NITDA’s transformational work on the Nigerian IT strategy.

He provided critical insights into how the Agency has developed, supervised and leveraged emerging technologies for good.

He further provided recent projections detailing the prospects of the continent leveraging its comparative advantage like its market size and young, talented population and how digital literacy and emerging technologies will serve as a catalyst for the transformation of its economy.

He extended an open invitation to investors present to consider the proposition to spray their tentacles to Africa’s largest economy, leveraging some of the regulatory frameworks and policies like the Nigeria Startup Act 2022, the National Digital Literacy Framework, the recent Strategic Blueprint issued by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
