By The National Assembly have cleared an aide of former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola and serial entrepreneur, Mr Idris Ibikunle Olorunnimbe (representing South West) as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Olorunnimbe who is also the Chief Executive Officer of The Temple Company, and Board Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) was screened by Senate Committee on Communications.
The Senate also confirmed Maryam Bayi (North East), Senator Ramoni Olalekan Mustafa (South West), and Ikechukwu Ugwuegede (South East) as Commissioners of the NCC. Board.
Other members of the Board confirmed by the Senate are Princess Oforitsenere Emiko (South South) and Christopher Sandy Okorie (South South).
With a Law Degree from the University of Lagos, where he now sits on the University’s Enterprise Board, Olorunnimbe has consistently invested in his own learning.
His appointment as Project Lead for the 2022 NUGA Games-hosted by the University of Lagos-demonstrates his commitment to holistic education, recognising the crucial role of physical development through sports in shaping well-rounded students.
His commitment to education is further evidenced by his completion of Leadership Training at Henley Business School, and most recently, the Strategic Decision-Making for Leaders programme at Cambridge Judge Business School.
