Nigerian Police Nabs Suspect for Hacking & Stealing Over N200m from Technology Firm

The Nigeria Police Force, has arrested an alleged cyber-crook, Wilfred Bonse who hacked into the system of a technology firm and made away with about N200 million.

An   investigation by  the National Cybercrime Center of the Nigeria Police (NPF-NCCC). led to the arrest of the suspect who was said to have stolen funds belonging to depositors held in trust by the company, Patricia Technologies.

The Police investigation revealed a far-reaching criminal conspiracy involving the unauthorized modification of computer systems, network data, and the unlawful diversion of funds totaling over N200 Million belonging to the company

The alleged theft included the conversion of cryptocurrency wallets and diversion of unauthorized fund from the company’s Flutterwave account, with Wilfred Bonse, identified as a key player in the complex crime, conspiring with others to fraudulently divert N607,000,000:00k) from the company’s account to his bank account through a cryptocurrency wallet.
