Anambra Clinches Multiple Awards at Kano Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy Confab

The Anambra State Government as well as the Anambra State ICT Agency were ravished with multiple awards at the recent 11th National Council on Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) meeting held in Kano.

Anambra State emerged as a technological powerhouse, securing four prestigious awards during the ICT peer review session.

The State proudly claimed the top spot, earning the title of the overall winner. This accolade reflects Anambra’s comprehensive dedication to advancing the state in the digital landscape. The award was presented to Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), the Managing Director of Anambra State ICT Agency, by the Kano State Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Also the State was recognized as the leading state in ICT infrastructure development. The full implementation of the Zero Right Of Way (RoW) policy and the establishment of an Internet Exchange Point contributed to this achievement, emphasizing the state’s commitment to building a robust foundation for prosperity through technology. The award was presented by the Minister of CIDE, Dr. Bosun Tijani.

It also got the first runner-up in e-Government Implementation for showcasing the state’s effective use of technology in governance together with first runner-up in Digital Technology Human Capital Development:

Receiving the awards on behalf of State’s Governor, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata expressed profound appreciation for creating an enabling environment and a visionary framework that guides the Anambra State ICT Agency in line with the ‘Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere’ mantra.

He dedicated the awards not only to the ICT Agency team but also to the cooperation and collaboration of the entire solution team for their hard work and dedication to the Governor’s transformative vision.

“This achievement no doubt reflects our unwavering commitment to technological advancement and the transformative journey we are championing in Anambra State,” he said.
